Church Member's Discipline 

   it is the confrontative and corrective measures taken by an individual, church leader /s or the congregation regarding a matter of sin in the life of a believer.


     It is the practice of censuring a church member when he / she is perceived to have sinned in hope that the offender will repent and be reconciled to God and the church. 


  Is the formal removal of an active church member from church membership roll and the informal separation from that member.

Discipline aims to save & restore a member taking the path towards death: 2 Cor 2: 6-8 & 2 Thess 3: 15.

Community Festival

   Discipline aims to protect the testimony of the church, the weak & innocent from the being contaminated by sin: 2 Sam 12: 14, 1 Tim 5: 20.

Daily Prayers

     Discipline exposes the cancerous sin so that it might be cut out quickly: 1 Cor 5:2– 6 & 1 Cor 5: 11– 13.

Community Help

 Discipline is compassionate warning, administered as the last resort: Matt 18:15 - 19  

Continuous Teaching

     Discipline is also for the long – term welfare of the one being disciplined & observers by the church: 1 Cor 5: 1-5 & Acts 13: 6-12.

Lapse of membership

A former active member who was rendered inactive due to ill-discipline shall:

1. Lose all membership rights.

2. Be transferred to the non-active member category by request or action of the deacons. before the first Church Council quarterly meeting.



Shall be reported to the Church Council, to confirm lapse of his / her membership.


Shall be sanctioned.
